I'm Jordan, a product manager who builds platforms. I've spent 9+ years in fintech and proptech, at startup and enterprise scale, building products for risk, credit, payments and workplace data.
This page explains how I work.
Approach
Start with the problem. Who has it, why it matters, and why now. If those are right, the rest gets easier. I test assumptions cheaply before committing to a build.
Make discovery a habit. I talk to customers and the teams that serve them regularly, not once per project. The goal is to learn something I didn't expect and let it change what we build or drop.
Build the platform once, and configure the experience. The best platforms share their core rules while letting each customer, brand or partner have its own experience. Buy what's a commodity, build what sets you apart, and configure the rest.
Bring blockers in early, as partners. In regulated products, legal, compliance and risk shape the solution. I bring them into the product process from the start instead of asking for their review at the end. That's usually how things ship faster, not slower.
Pick one outcome, and guard against side effects. Every initiative gets one outcome metric, a few leading indicators to watch, and guardrails so we don't trade one problem for another.
Write the why, and keep it short. People skim long documents. I write lean specs that give the team direction, not a script, and that explain the reasoning so engineers can make good trade-offs on their own.
Use AI to move faster, and keep judgment human. I use AI workflows for research, discovery and prototyping, and share them with other teams. Judgment, prioritization and the final call stay with people.
